Mr. Cockrum was the comic book artist who illustrated the three-part comic adaptation of Star Trek: The Motion Picture for Marvel Comics. He was also an artist on the Star Trek comic "Experiment in Vengeance!" and a co-plotter for "All Those Years Ago".

Alberto Giolitti

The second illustrator to ever work on a Star Trek series of comic books, beginning with "Invasion of the City Builders", in issue #3 of Gold Key Comics's series. He was the primary artist on twenty-five issues of that series, and three of the stories he worked on were reprinted in later issues of that series.

All of his works on that series would later be reprinted in the first three installments of Star Trek: The Enterprise Logs, in turn reprinted as the first three volumes of Star Trek: The Key Collection. There was a profile of Giolitti printed in Enterprise Log 1.

In 1968 he wrote "The Joy Machine", a third script for the Star Trek TV series, that was never shot. The main reason that it wasn't used in the series is that it contained expensive special effects sequences that would be too much for their budget. However, the script was adapted into a book by Sci-Fi writer James Gunn (Star Trek #80, The Original Series) and published by Pocket Books in 1996.

Nevio Zeccara

Nevio Zaccara was the first illustrator to work on a comics version of Star Trek. He illustrated the first two issues of Western Publishing's Gold Key line of Trek comics. He was replaced in issue number three by Alberto Giolitti. His works were reprinted in Enterprise Log 1, published in August 1976.
